North Okanagan Area

The North Okanagan region is nestled in the interior of British Columbia and is situated between the Shuswap and the Okanagan Valley. It stretches from Grindrod in the north to Vernon in the south.

North Okanagan Communities

Armstrong

Armstrong is a small community North of Vernon. The town of Armstrong is a central commercial area for the surrounding dairy farms, ranch lands, and other agricultural farms. Armstrong is the home of the Interior Pacific Exhibition which is held in late summer each year.

Vernon

Nestled between Okanagan, Kalamalka, and Swan Lakes is the city of Vernon. Vernon is the largest community within the North Okanagan and is a city that combines culture and recreation making it a great place to live, work, and play.

Cherryville

A beautiful community located in the foothills of the Monashee Mountains, Cherryville offers plenty of outdoor opportunities and small town charm.

Coldstream

Coldstream is located along the east side of Vernon. A friendly and growing community, Coldstreem is home to several parks including the popular Kalamalka Provincial Park. The Coldstream Valley stretches to the community of Lavington.

Enderby

The quaint riverfront community of Enderby is located South of Mara Lake along the banks of the Shuswap River.

Grindrod

Grindrod is a small farming community located along the banks of the Shuswap River. Grindrod’s major industry is agricultural, although it attracts visitors because of its idyllic setting and charm.

Lumby

Outdoor enthusiasts will love Lumby, which is known as the “Gateway to the Monashee”. Lumby is a small rural community with a quaint town centre.

Spallumcheen

Known for being one of the finest agricultural areas in BC, Spallumcheen is also rich in forestry and tourism. The historic O’Keefe Ranch is located here.
