Preparing Your Home

When choosing to sell your home or property you may have many questions. When listing your house you want to ensure that it is in show condition so that it appeals to buyers. The following is a list of tips to make your home ready for listing:

• The Front of your house is the first impression. Ensure that your yard is manicured and maintained, that the drive way is free from damage, that exterior paint is not peeling, and your front entry and door is inviting.
• Inspect your roof and ensure shingles are in good shape and gutters are free of debris
• Mow lawn or shovel driveway (depending on the season), trim hedges, and remove any lawn/garden ornaments
• Plant flowers to add colour and beauty
• The interior of your house should appeal to the five senses
• Ensure house is clean and free of clutter. Remove and Personal Objects
• Add a fresh coat of paint in a neutral colour
• Bake Cookies or simmer pot-pourri
• Clean your carpets and air out your home
• Replace Worn Carpets with new carpet, laminate flooring or wood flooring
• Fix Leaky faucets, replace cracked toilet seats, and clean mold and mildew from bathroom tiles
• Clean stove and refrigerator. Organize cupboards and pantry
• Examine Doors and Windows
